| I have lived at three Southern Management communities in Baltimore -- Marlboro Classic, Charles Towers, and now Park Charles. The Marlboro was very nice but eventually cost too much for us at the time, and don't even get me started on the negative experience that was Charles Towers, but we have been so happy so far at the Park Charles.
I am writing this review as a response to the very negative review that is posted here to give people a more balanced perception. For example, the reviewer mentions that the air conditioning was not turned on until May. Well, this has been the case at all three of the apartment communities in Baltimore in which I've lived, so I don't think it's fair to single out the Park Charles for that. As for the thermostat, s/he neglected to mention that a quirk of it is that it has to be set at that temperature for the A/C to turn on in the first place.
The same goes for the parking . . . all three apartments in Baltimore in which I've lived have had parking that costs about $130/month. Why single out the Park Charles for this? At least the Park Charles has a garage directly under the building, unlike Charles Towers -- you can take an elevator straight from your floor to the garage without going outside, which is nice on bad weather days.
The staff here is so professional, with wonderful attitudes. They got to know us very quickly. There are other great amenities here too -- I particularly like the 24-hour pantry, as well as the package delivery service. It's also great having a washer/dryer in each apartment, as opposed to one laundry room for an entire floor or even building.
There is construction, but I've never been bothered by the noise, and our apartment faces the construction on the plaza. My sole complaint is that the construction has made the plaza not the safest area at night, but even that's not a big deal; we just go in the Charles Street side instead after dark. The building itself is very safe, with lots of staff and cameras.
In short, I couldn't be happier here. |
