| The apartment itself is nice -- aside from the lead paint, and the constant environemtal assault caused by the managements' insistence on covering every surface with fresh layers of varnish and paint every time an apartment is empty (which averages about once every 12-18 months). It gets bad enough to cause me to take an unplanned vacation for about a week every six months. If you can't afford to do that, or at least find a friend's place to spend a few nights, you will not be happy here.
Parking is a mess. The building is old, with old wiring. Management is incompetent -- about 3-4 new office managers every year. Maintenance is slow (too much time painting and varnishing to spend time actually fixing plumbing, electrical, or mechanical problems). Even though you're paying upscale prices, you're still treated like you're living in a tenement. |
