Apartment Review
Not Impressed!

When my roommate and I moved to Beacon Pointe Apartments, we were first time renters and it seemed like the price was quite reasonable. However, we quickly found that you get what you pay for. My first suggestion would be to seriously inspect any apartment here before signing the lease. We were so excited to move in that we completely looked over the fact that the walls were poorly plastered and re-painted from the previous tennant (to the point where when we tried to hang our curtains... a baseball size chunk of wall fell down), the floor had 2 spots that were "crunchy" (and later found out... were almost completely dry rotted), and the screens in the windows had countless holes in them. We also found that our apartment had a serious bug issue. Even with us living on the 3rd floor, we had a problem with ants and stink bugs. We reported the issue to the front office, but they would just put our names onto the monthly pesticide control list, which never appeared to make any difference. I think that they should have taken the time to also send maintenance out to check for cracks and holes around our living space or checked in with their sub-contracted pesticide company to find out exactly what they were doing in our apartment each month. However, the front office and maintenance were just other issues that we soon found with Beacon Pointe. Finally, we thankfully left Beacon Pointe early after the above mentioned issues and mostly, after realizing how unsafe our unit was. The lighting in the parking lot is quite poor at night and while I know there is little control over the actual people living in the units, I would assume that after the cops come to a person's door once or twice, that the front office would find some ground for terminating that person's lease. Beacon Pointe Apartments are located in such a nice part of town and are decently priced. But I would be very cautious when thinking about making the move to this community.
