Apartment Review for Hopkins House Apartments - Baltimore, MD

This place is bad. Really, don't waste your money. They have been making some cosmetic improvements, but you can't polish a terd.

My air conditioner doesn't work and the guy has been here twice already. It can be a cool day, and it's hotter in here than it is outside. Or even in the hallway. Sriously, it has to be about 75-80 in here daily. They don't really seem to care and now that you have to pay your own utilities, they care even less.

I have to say one of the ladies in the office is very sweet, but the others really don't seem to care if you live or die in here after you sign that lease. You feel like they are letting out an aggrivated sigh as they say "Hey maintenance, Apt X broke their air conditioner again. Morons. go fix it sometime in the next week so they leave me alone" We are constantly without water, electricity or heat in the winter. This past winter was really rough. They turn your heat off and then they give you a broken space heater. I'd have been better off with a fire in a trash can in the middle of the living room like a homeless man.

The elevators never work. I have been here 3 years and I don't think the elevators have all been working at one time for longer than a month. You have to wait a really long time too. It wouldn't be so bad if you could just use the stairs, but they won't let you in that way. It's locked. So people on the 2nd floor have to use the elevator!

The laundry room is OK. They have a credit card machine that is broken about 7 out of 10 times. Most of the time you'll pick a machine that is broken so you will have to pay twice as much to do your laundry. They have a bit of a roach problem too.

Maintenance staff is polite and curteous. They try their best with what they are given.

The pool is nice to have.
