Apartment Review for Tindeco Wharf Apartments - Baltimore, MD

During our rental - Basic, over-priced but adequate if you don't mind avoiding the homeless who rove the streets nearby. Very poor condition carpets on move-in noted and requested for change, but stained carpets were par for the course it appears. Inside the walls are thin and the standard of appliances, finish and care was poor. This was however a luxury compared to when we decided to move out of the property early into a decent place to live. Following being a model tendant, Tindeco attempted to charge us significant fees to leave early. Finding that they could not levy these as they did not complete the paperwork correctly in order to do so, they had no alternative but to permit us to leave on our notice. If this were not hostile enough following our having been tenants who were never late with rent, never caused complaints and never troubled anyone in the staff - we attempted to leave a day early to give them a little more time to do their due process and to leave on good terms. We had previously cleaned every room in the apartment however permanent grime stains which had been in place and were there throughout our stay as no cleaner removed them were then cause for Tindeco to remove $75 dollars from our security deposit. I am still waiting for that security deposit some 28 days later, and when i call to ask when we will be able to receive these monies they rudely tell us that they have 45 days to do so. Any decent company would attend to this promptly, but even after this delay - they refuse to allow contact with the department who cuts checks directly and refuse us the decency of any date or scheduling claiming they do not know when they will decide to write the check or obtain signatories. A good way to keep the money in your account for the maximum period of time. Meanwhile Cathy and the other members of staff continue to be obstructive and unhelpful in obtaining resolution of this matter. Staff are nice enough on the walk around, but being made to feel as though you were priveliged to live here and treated with brusque rudeness once you had moved in does nothing to improve matters. Avoid these money grabbing thieves at all costs.
